Final Agreement - Representative Public Service Plan

The Yukon government worked closely with First Nations to renew the Final Agreement - Representative Public Service Plan (FA-RPSP) in 2011.

The goal of the plan is to increase the representation of Yukon First Nations people within the public service, an obligation the government committed to through Yukon's Land Claims Agreements (Chapter 22 of the Umbrella Final Agreement).

The three main objectives of the renewed Final Agreement - Representative Public Service Plan are to:

  • Work towards more proportional representation of Aboriginal people in Yukon government workforce in different occupations and classification levels;
  • Contribute to well-functioning government-to-government relationships that strengthen both Yukon government and First Nations governments; and
  • Make the Yukon government a desirable place for Aboriginal people to work.

All Yukon government departments participate in the implementation of the FA-RPSP with support from the Public Service Commission.
